Thank you for a short and excellent review of this man's life. I am disappointed by Colombus, a very different man from the maritime hero they taught me at school. He was a ruthless, ambitious and inept man more interested —not to mention a hypocrite— in getting lots of slaves, establishing gold quotas for the natives of the Caribbean and receiving honours and titles from the Spanish crown. His merit, it seems, was discovering the Atlantic winds, no small feat, but to me his wrongdoings opaque everything his sailing abilities. His statues should be torn down. The book is well-written and very entertaining, I will get more books from this collection!

Columbus: Lies of a New World tells the story of Christopher Columbus, both the good and the bad. It is pretty fair in its assessment of both. It’s pretty short and to the point so it reads fast. As far as content, it’s a solid 4. However, it is in very bad need of an editor. Random words that don’t belong are scattered throughout and that is very distracting. The formatting could use some work. The eighth chapter repeats quite a bit of what was said previously. For the content, though, I still recommend reading it.

This book is very in-lighting and a realistic account of historical facts. However, I found several errors that diminished confidence in the writers credibilitu.

interesting history, but somewhat confused writing

The author leaves out or neglects many details that would exonerate Columbus of slavery accusations. Definitions of slavery have changed over centuries and cultures, but the author insists on appealing to the historical U.S. Civil War Abolitionists' representations of slavery. Perhaps in several hundred years hence, historians might conclude that we, as corporate workers, were continuously exploited in the same sense that Karl Marx argued that we should "give up our chains"! The author also leaves out documentation of alleged brutalities though he does provide a bibliography for further readings and study.

I was looking for an unbiased bio about Columbus. This seemed to be unbiased, which was why I bought it. However, I will be trying a couple of more books.

A good account but it would have been improved by including details of the three vessels of his first voyage.

After reading just a few pages I found a few words that weren’t spelled correctly. The book doesn’t go over as much as I was hoping that it would. It does give you some information on strains so that was the only positive, but over all I was disappointed. This book is intended for someone that is just learning, I wouldnt recommend it for someone that is experienced and is wanting more than basic information.

My business offers products in the natural wellness arena, and CBD has recently come on the scene in a big way! I've been researching so that when customers ask, I have knowledge to guide them in the right way. As someone who is "new" to this, I found this book to be very rich in detail.

This book is different than I expected, but in a good way. Most of the book is filled with the strains.There are 14 pages (7 pages are a glossary) with something other than strain info. The rest is all some info on 500+ strains.

Well written and well documented book. Intense information about how to grow the Marijuana you need or just want for fun with weed.The author is someone who not only experienced the sixties, but remembers a tremendous amount from that time in spite of the warnings.Enjoyable and seemingly accurate methods to produce the correct Marijuana for whatever ails you. Love it!!!!

Not much information in here will be useful to growers. It has a lot of well-known strains in it, who bred them, where they came from and what they are crosses of. That's pretty much it. There is no information on the climate they're grown in--in fact, there's no mention of temperature at all. Also no mention of common issues you might come across when growing said strain either. It's Leafly in a book. Useless.

Very informative. I got this bc of its information on different strains and their uses.

Very helpful and detailed growing instructions, including a recipe for a safe insecticide and compost usage. Also includes an entertaining history of the Cannibis paranoia in this country. A great compilation of more strains that I ever know existed, with uses and contraindications.

Very good stuff, but prob needs updated soon. The indoor lights section has zero mention of LED's. Think this is 5th edition, released in 2005. Lost one star for no LED's and one for no updates in 12 yrs....otherwise still EXCELLENT info.
