A hefty coffee table book! This is a great book (gift) for youth between the ages of 6-12. Easy to read, bold colorful photographs and a decent historical timeline. This book touches the surface of Winchester (only Winchester) as a historical reference. In short, you'll crave more information. And you'll want to know more events confronting Winchester Arms during the early periods of its evolution. Such as the Civil War and Winchester's rivalry with the Spencer rifle. I bought a copy of this book as a gift for a friend. After paging through it, I bought another copy for myself. I'd call it a "coffee table" book, full of large color pictures and great stories and facts regarding Winchester rifles. There are aspects of the book that could be used as reference material, however, it's a book that is better suited for pure enjoyment.

While my husband was happy with his gift, the corner of the book was damaged...I was disappointed. Also, the ship time seemed quite lengthy. Overall, I must say this transaction left me unimpressed.

I was very disappointed in this book. It's much smaller and much more basic than I realized. I bought it for my 5 yr old grandson and he already knows way more about dirt bikes than the book outlines. It has very few facts about the bikes themselves.

This is a quick no-frills book on how to make homemade hand and facial creams. That will take care of dry or cracked hands feet and faces you will also learn that honey and beeswax are one of the most important parts of any hand cream, and why store-bought variations are so expensive (because it takes a fair amount of honey and natural beeswax to make a decent cream). I was very interested to learn the difference between a lotion and cream. The major difference is that lotion contains more water or other natural language, whereas the cream has far less water and is of a thicker consistency. I was interested in this book because I am outside a lot during the winter, and therefore end up with severely chapped lips and hands on a regular basis. And sadly, there aren't very many manly versions of protective hand creams available on the market that do not come with a fairly hefty price tag attached for what you get. So I decided to do some research and see if I could make my own natural-based creams to protect my hands and lips and save a little bit of money in the process. I stumbled across this book, and I must say I'm very pleased with the results. It explains the five major skin types and how to configure cream for let's say very dry skin versus skin and contains a lot of oil, as compared with what is considered to be normal skin. This one definitely has no-frills, and no gimmicks and his relatively short, but that is okay by me, because there is nothing in these pages that I don't absolutely need to know to make a usable. 100% natural, organic cream, when I need it. Of course there are creams in this book such as anti-aging and face creams. As I imagine, the primary market for such a publication is of course going to be women however as I say restorative and dry skin protective creams do wonders for my hands and face in the cold winter weather. And I'm very pleased with the results. And not only that but, the book also includes a recipe for organic homemade toothpaste as well, which I will be trying, very shortly.

In it, Jasmine Wood presents a quick overview and description of the five skin types (normal skin, oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, combination skin). This is followed by a brief description of the essential ingredients in homemade all-natural creams (honey and beeswax being the most important). Then come the recipes for DIY lotions and cream. These include: Body lotion, body cream, autumn cream, anti-wrinkle cream, hand lotion, face creams (for the different skin types), lip chap, and all natural toothpaste.Each recipe gives a list of ingredients, followed by directions on how to make the lotion or cream. The ingredients are readily available in health food stores or online. Most of the creams and lotions are quite easy to make, and the directions are clear and easy to follow.This is a great little book for anyone looking for an all-natural way to keep their skin smooth and youthful looking.

This has odd recipes and asks for petroleum jelly in one. There is such a thing as nonpetroleum jelly, but it isn't even mentioned. Disappointed in this expensive flop.

I'm glad i got this book, some of the recipes are great! I especially like the chocolate chap stick. Offers a tasty solution to the bland store-bought stuff!

Good information, presented in easy to understand instructions, I've tried some of the recipes and am enjoying the whole process. Not difficult at all, and what a difference! My skin is softer and I'm no longer vulnerable to all the unpronounceable ingredients and additives in commercially made lotions.
