This book is so wonderful and emotional! I was blessed to be able to read this amazing love story! When a child is sick and parentless, two people come forward to care for him and end up falling in love. The struggles of diabetes is so real to so many people, and Alexa has crafted a true to life emotionally charged writing of the highest quality in this book!
Melinda loves her town, and her neighbor’s boy Ilya, who has diabetes. His uncle has come to town to take care of him and has plans to return to his hometown with Ilya after a few weeks. Melinda is asked to teach Andrey all about type 1 diabetes so he can successfully navigate raising Ilya. Lovely story, set in a town we’ve come to love with appearances by a couple familiar names. Another easy read and hard to put down story.
It is not often you can find a romance novel that deals with serious health issues like this story does! Alexa Verde does an amazing job of showing the everyday struggles people with diabetes face. All while wrapped up in a beautifully romantic love story!
Another wonderful book by Alexa Verde! Her books are always filled with faith as well as romance. I just can’t say enough good things about this book. I loved it!
Sweet romance that will make you smile and she's a few tears. God will let and bring people into your life that will make yours better. Count your blessings for the wonderful world God has created for us. That his love is unconditionally for all his children.

A move to a small town, one ex fiancé, and now the neighbor. He should not be this way, she had been helping to raise the boy. The boy and her had a bond, and she was needed she would endure the grouch, Andrey. The boy had exercised a lot, and needed food, he would learn, but time, wasn't possible. A man, who dropped everything, and how deeply he loved his nephew, was evident.He needed an ally to learn, would she do it. She also, was good at questions, about his personal life. Giving in to please parents, and the company, was that his goal, or a demand from them.Melinda, taught him more than how to care for Ilya, his faith, and prayer. Once again Alexa has given us a first hand look, of how a person steps up to a challenge. Reaching out, when needed to others to help them. It was a moving, tender love story of 3 people who needed healing, and more important love. Would it form a new bond of a family for them. Readers will once again, love this story, and awaiting another book to come.
I would give this a 10 if I could. A wonderful book! Andrey loses is brother and goes to take care of his nephew Ilya who has diabetes 1 which Andrey knows nothing about. His neighbor Melinda is a paramedic and has helped with Ilya before plus she has diabetes 1 also. They don't get along at first but for Ilya they work together. Andrey and Ilya are bought grieving and hurting. Melinda wants to help but also is grieving over her father that died from diabetes and is hurting over what her ex boyfriend told her about her sickness.I liked how the author explained diabetes and how things can happen. This was a really real life story of how to handle sickness. Both Andrey and Melinda had their own problems to get through and how to move on from the past. Andrey had stepped away from God and Melinda was showing him how God can help. It was a great book of recovering from the past, learning to live with sickness and trusting God to be with them no matter what. I loved the love and caring for each other in this book. I received a free copy and give this review because it is such a great book and others should read this.
