Ah I truly enjoyed this spy thriller story! I laughed, I got worried, I got sad (with the ending), and kept turning pages. I like thrillers and detective stories so this was definitely my type of read and I can say it's a great fast-paced thriller to enjoy during a cozy Saturday evening.
First, I liked that this novel was longer and more "traditional" than most of the author's previous works. Being the bibliophile that I am, I love a fully fleshed-out novel, and this one is almost there.The Nigerian is an interesting offering, in that it deals with a desperate businessman forced to work as a spy. Although the premise is highly unlikely, the book does not fail to draw you into the mission and the goings on of the main character. Though he probably deserves everything he gets, one cannot help but recognize DeBare's sincere heart and pray he completes his missions successfully. I was a tiny bit surprised by the ending, but I quickly realized that it was perfect for this story.
The Nigerian was a good quick read by Eric Reese. The MI6 has set up Debare Balogun to spy on Russia. They now have enough evidence of his con man ways to have him put away for life. Now MI6 wants him to infiltrate the Russians and gather evidence on a diamond heist. This was a good quick read.
